Camera System Information and Log
Olympus SP-500UZ used for the digital images shown above
General Information (updated Dec 13 2005) The imaging system is comprised of a PC controlling a pan/tilt unit and 2 cameras. One camera is a standard high quality Sony low light level video camera with 18x optical zoom. The other camera is an Olympus SP500UZ 6-MegaPixel Digital Still Camera with 10x zoom The digital camera has been mounted on its side, that is, rotated 90 degrees from the normal position, so the images are taller than they are wide. Next to the digital camera is the Sony block video camera. It has excellent low light capabilities and an 18x optical zoom. A 160' cable connects the camera system to an industrial PC running Windows XP. A DSL connection to the Internet allows for uploading the images to the web site.
